Job summary

Mederi Caretenders Home Health, part of the Optum family, is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant for home health care. This full-time role includes a $7,500 sign-on bonus and compensation through a mix of hourly and per-visit pay based on productivity.

The PTA will follow the plan of care established by the supervising PT, perform exercises, educate patients and families, and coordinate with the healthcare team to support patient well-being in home settings.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered Physical Therapist Assistant
• Current driver’s license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation
• Preferred: CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire
• Ability to perform physical tasks required for patient care, including lifting, transferring, and assisting with mobility

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws governing provision of physical therapy in home care
• Follow treatment defined by supervising PT
• Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise and training
• Record and report patient responses to treatment to the supervising PT
• Coordinate care with the healthcare team as appropriate
• Educate patient, family, and caregivers on therapy within PTA scope
