Job summary

Mederi Caretenders Home Health, a part of LHC Group within the Optum family, is hiring a Physical Therapy Assistant for full-time home-based care. You will follow the supervising PT's plan and perform only procedures you are qualified to carry out, while supporting patient progress.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Follow all state laws governing physical therapy in home care and implement treatments as directed by the supervising PT.
• Instruct and assist patients with active and passive exercises, gait, ADLs, transfers, and prosthetic training.
• Observe and report patient responses and coordinate care with the healthcare team.
• Educate patient, family, and caregivers on therapy within the PT assistant scope.
• Adapt to any home environment and serve diverse patient populations.
