Job summary

BayCare is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant for St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL.

The PA will assist licensed therapists with interventions in physical therapy and rehabilitation, progress patients under the PT's plan, and supervise eligible staff under supervision. The role is full-time with varying shift hours. Requirements include a BLS certification, PTA licensure (or temporary licensure within 6 months), and an associate degree in physical therapy; 1 year PTA experience is

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision to Rehabilitation Technicians and related staff under licensed PT supervision.

Physical Therapy Assistant - Pool responsibilities:

• Assists Physical Therapists with the administration of interventions utilized in physical therapy and rehabilitation
• May progress patients/residents in the treatment plan developed by the physical therapist
• May provide direct clinical supervision for Rehabilitation Technicians, Massage Therapists, Athletic Trainers and Fitness Specialists. Team members with temporary permits must work under the direct supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist that has been licensed for a minimum of six months
• A supervising licensed Physical Therapist may only supervise one permittee at any given time

Requirements :

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PTA (Physical Therapy Assistant)
• Or PTA (Physical Therapy Assistant) Temporary and licensure within 6 months
• Required Associate's Physical Therapy
• Preferred 1 year Physical Therapy Assistant
