Job summary

Oregon Occupational Medicine is seeking a motivated Physical Therapy Assistant to join our outpatient team in Oregon. You will work with licensed Physical Therapists to implement individualized treatment plans and support patient rehabilitation.

The ideal candidate has an Associate’s degree from an accredited PTA program, Oregon licensure or eligibility, and at least 1 year of outpatient PTA experience. Strong communication and EMR skills are required.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Current license or eligibility for licensure in Oregon.
• 1+ year outpatient PTA experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in using electronic medical records (EMR).
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Physical Therapist to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Assist patients with exercises to improve strength, mobility, and function.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Educate patients on body mechanics and injury prevention.
• Administer modalities under supervision (e.g., electrical stimulation, ultrasound).
• Coordinate care with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate documentation of treatment and progress in EMR.
• Assist in set-up and maintenance of treatment areas and equipment.
• Participate in team meetings and continuing education to enhance skills.

• Assist patients with exercises and activities aimed at improving strength, mobility, and function.

• Educate patients on proper body mechanics and techniques for injury prevention.
• Administer therapeutic modalities, such as electrical stimulation and ultrasound, under the direction of a Physical Therapist.
• Communicate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and provide updates on progress.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient treatment and progress.
• Assist in the setup and maintenance of treatment areas and equipment.
• Participate in team meetings and continuing education to improve skills and knowledge.
• Adhere to ethical and legal standards for patient care and confidentiality.

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Current license or eligibility for licensure in the state of Oregon.
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant in an outpatient setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
• Proficient in using electronic medical records.
• CPR certification.
