Job summary

Driftwood Healthcare Center-Hayward is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA). We provide a professional and supportive work environment and treat residents and employees as part of our family.

The PTA will administer treatments, perform assessments, and follow an established plan of care in coordination with the PT. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401K, PTO, referral bonuses, relocation reimbursement, and a sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant program required.
• Current California PTA license required.
• One year of clinical experience preferred; new graduates welcome.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, range of motion, and respiratory/circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment according to established plan of care.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• May participate in home assessments to ensure safe discharge with PT/OT support.
• Completes required forms following company policies and federal/state regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Duties and Responsibilities within scope of practice and federal guidelines:

• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• May participate with home assessments, simulated or actual as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment along with PT/OT as needed.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in a Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed.
• Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant issued by the state of California.
