Job summary

Mariner Healthcare is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in California. The role administers treatment to patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues and conducts tests for strength, ROM, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.

You will provide direct clinical care per an established plan, maintain patient confidentiality, and may participate in home assessments to support safe discharge with PT/OT as needed. Prior licensing and licensing renewal are required.

Qualifications

• CA PTA license required
• 1 year of clinical experience preferred; new grads welcomed
• Associate degree PTA program required

Responsibilities

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Duties and Responsibilities within scope of practice and federal guidelines:

• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• May participate with home assessments, simulated or actual as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment along with PT/OT as needed.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in a Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed.
• Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant issued by the state of California.
