Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO seeks a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist to perform objective assessments and design individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients.

The role includes supervising patients, rehab technicians, and PT assistants in line with State Practice Acts and Mercy standards. Requirements include a DPT/MS or equivalent, MO licensure, BLS, and 6 months to 1 year of rehab PT experience.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice physical therapy in the state of MO (current or temporary).
• BLS certification and ability to maintain current certifications.
• Six months to one year of rehabilitation PT experience preferred for adults/geriatric patients.
• Educational qualifications as listed above are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and develop comprehensive individualized treatment plans.
• Supervise patients direct, Rehabilitation Technicians, PT assistants per State Practice Acts.

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Tuition Reimbursement
Up to $2,000/year for continuing education

Education: Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.
Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.
Preferred Experience: Six months to one year experience is preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist. Prefer experience with care for adult and geriatric patients.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
