Job summary

Mercy Hospital South is seeking a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist to perform objective assessments and design individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. The role includes direct supervision of patients and supervising rehab technicians, with general supervision of PT assistants as required by State Practice Acts.

Qualifications include a current physical therapy license, BLS certification, and a preference for 6–12 months of rehab experience.

Qualifications

• Currently/temporarily licensed physical therapist in the state of practice.
• BLS certification is required and must be current before independent patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and develop comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients.
• Provide direct supervision to patients and supervision to rehabilitation technicians; general supervision of PT assistants per state acts.
• Operate within Mercy mission and service standards while delivering high-quality rehabilitation care.

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Tuition Reimbursement
Up to $2,000/year for continuing education

Education: Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.
Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.
Preferred Experience: Six months to one year experience is preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist. Prefer experience with care for adult and geriatric patients.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
