Job summary

Mercy Hospital South is seeking a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist to perform objective assessments and design individualized treatments for adults and geriatric patients. The role includes supervision of rehabilitation staff and adherence to Mercy Service Standards in collaboration with Therapy Leadership.

Education must include a Bachelor, MS in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy, with current or temporary licensure in the practicing state and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
• Licensure: Current/Temporary license to practice Physical Therapy in state of practice.
• Certifications: BLS certified; certifications must be current before treating patients independently.
• Preferred Experience: Six months to one year experience in Rehabilitation PT.

Responsibilities

• Performs objective assessments and develops comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients.
• Provides direct supervision of patients and indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians; supervises PT assistants as per State Practice Acts.

Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Tuition Reimbursement
Up to $2,000/year for continuing education

Education: Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.
Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.
Preferred Experience: Six months to one year experience is preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist. Prefer experience with care for adult and geriatric patients.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
