Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO, is seeking a Physical Therapist to perform objective assessments and develop individualized rehab programs for adults and geriatric patients.

You will supervise patients and rehab staff under Therapy Leadership, with responsibilities aligned to Mercy mission and service standards. Qualifications include a PT degree and current Missouri licensure, BLS certification, and 6 months to 1 year preferred experience.

Qualifications

• Education credentials as listed: B...S in Physical Therapy or DPT.
• Current or temporary Physical Therapy license in state of practice.
• BLS certification required and current before patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and develop comprehensive treatment programs for adults and geriatric patients.
• Direct supervision to patients and indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians.
• General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts.

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Tuition Reimbursement
Up to $2,000/year for continuing education

Education: Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.
Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.
Preferred Experience: Six months to one year experience is preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist. Prefer experience with care for adult and geriatric patients.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
