Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in Missouri seeks a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist to perform objective assessments and develop individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. You will supervise patients, rehab technicians, and PT assistants while aligning with Mercy's mission and service standards.

Required is a PT degree, current state license, and BLS certification. Six months to a year of experience is preferred in rehab settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
• Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.
• BLS certified.
• Six months to one year experience preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients.
• Provide direct supervision to patients and supervise rehabilitation technicians.
• Supervise PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts.
• Work under therapy leadership and follow department policies.

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Tuition Reimbursement
Up to $2,000/year for continuing education

Education: Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.
Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.
Preferred Experience: Six months to one year experience is preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist. Prefer experience with care for adult and geriatric patients.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
