Job summary

Mercy Hospital South is seeking a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist to deliver objective assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for adult and geriatric patients. You will supervise rehabilitation technicians and PT assistants, ensuring alignment with State Practice Acts and Mercy standards.

The ideal candidate holds a PT degree with current licensure and BLS, with 6 months to 1 year in rehab PT preferred. Mercy offers tuition reimbursement and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Current/Temporary Physical Therapy license in state of practice.
• BLS certification required and current before independent patient care.
• Experience: six months to one year in Rehabilitation Physical Therapy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and develop comprehensive treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients.
• Direct supervision of rehabilitation technicians and supervision of PT assistants as per State Practice Acts.
• Ensure care adheres to Mercy mission and service standards and supports patient independence.

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Tuition Reimbursement
Up to $2,000/year for continuing education

Education: Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.
Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.
Preferred Experience: Six months to one year experience is preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist. Prefer experience with care for adult and geriatric patients.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
