Summary of Job Duties:

Shift: 3/12 hour days, Saturday - Monday

The Physical Therapist performs examinations, evaluations, and establishes plans of care including goals and recommendations for discharge. The PT provides daily treatment to promote functional independence and modifies treatment programs. Performs documentation in EHR. Coordinates/communicates with interdisciplinary team. Participates in program improvement, clinical education, and customer service standards.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy if graduated prior to 2002 OR Master's degree in Physical Therapy if graduated prior to 2016 OR Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy;
  • Licensed as a Physical Therapist by the Arkansas State Board of Physical Therapy or eligible for licensure

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience in Physical Therapy
  • Doctorate in Physical Therapy
  • Experience as a PT in acute care setting
  • Current AHA BLS (must obtain certification within 30 days of starting in this position)
Additional Information:

Employees in this role must be fitted for, capable of donning, and performing routine tasks in personal protective equipment to include N95 masks, Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR), or Controlled Air Purifying Respirators (CAPR).

Responsibilities:
  • Performs comprehensive examination of patients using appropriate tests/measures based on population. Completes the evaluation and formulates an individualized plan of care.
  • Provides evidence-based quality patient treatments and monitors patients for physiological status during sessions. Provides individualized patient education.
  • Documents evaluations, treatment sessions/education sessions, and submits accurate charges according to regulatory policies.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary and department communication, including patient care discussions and/or meetings and unit/department/hospital meetings.
  • Provides education regarding the Physical Therapy discipline. May serve as a clinical instructor, a mentor for a clinical observer, or provide education to other disciplines within UAMS and/or the community.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
