Job summary

Career Links is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to provide school-based services in Tucson, Arizona. This in-person, part-time role supports students to improve mobility and independence within the educational setting.

The PT will assess students, develop IEP-aligned goals, and collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliant service delivery and progress monitoring.

Qualifications

• Doctorate or Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current Arizona Physical Therapy license issued by the Arizona Board of Examiners or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start date.
• Knowledge of IDEA, special education procedures, and IEP development.
• Experience conducting evaluations and developing treatment plans.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

Part-Time | 2026-2027 School Year | In-Person

Career Links is seeking a dedicated and student-focused Physical Therapist (PT) to provide school-based services for students in Arizona. This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed Physical Therapist who is passionate about helping students achieve greater independence, mobility, and success within the educational environment.

This position is part-time, 4 days per week, and offers the opportunity to collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student achievement and participation in school activities.

Position Responsibilities

• Assess and implement physical therapy services for students in educational settings.
• Conduct screenings to determine the need for further individualized assessments.
• Assess students to identify eligibility for special education services and determine IEP-related needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, interventions, and educational materials to support student goals and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Write physical therapy goals and provide ongoing progress monitoring data for students' IEPs.
• Support accountability for student growth and proficiency on IEP goals.
• Facilitate and attend meetings including IEP meetings, MET evaluations, parent conferences, team meetings, staff trainings, and other related meetings.
• Consult and collaborate with teachers, parents, school personnel, and outside professionals regarding student needs, services, recommendations, and referrals.
• Support the delivery of services through a classroom integration model whenever appropriate.
• Follow school-wide systems, procedures, and positive behavior intervention practices.
• Communicate effectively and proactively with students, families, and educational teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, evaluations, progress reports, and Medicaid billing as required.
• Ensure compliance with all district, state, and federal special education regulations.
• Participate in annual and ongoing professional development and staff training.

Qualifications

Required

• Knowledge of Medicaid billing procedures within educational settings.
