Job summary

The Physical Therapist at McKenzie Health System in Sandusky, MI provides and oversees medically prescribed physical therapy programs to restore function after disease or injury. The role includes daily supervision of PT staff in the absence of the Department Director.

Temporary, full-time position with 40 hours/week starting December 2026; may require weekend call hours and variable schedules.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an APTA accredited Physical Therapy Program.
• Licensed physical therapist in the state of Michigan.
• BLS certification within 3 months of hire and recertification as required.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships and effective communication with peers, patients, families, physicians, and all other support hospital & external personnel
• Supports and contributes to the total hospital system by maintaining a hospital-wide perspective and serving on department/hospital committees
• Ability to influence the direction of Physical Therapy Services by maintaining a positive perspective/attitude
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a stressful situation while maintaining composure and excellence in the delivery of PT services
• Ability to promote and adapt to change in order to keep current with Physical Therapy care duties
• Ability to apply the principles of quality physical therapy care and prepare patient programs
• Evidence of a sense of responsibility, initiative, honesty, and a positive attitude
• Knowledge of various equipment, including whirlpools, traction equipment, parallel bars, weights, etc.
• Ability to delegate appropriate tasks to support staff
