Job summary

BMR Health is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to join our school-based team in a hands-on, student-focused capacity. In this in-person role, you will evaluate students, develop IEP goals, and deliver PT services to enhance mobility and participation in school activities.

You will collaborate with teachers, therapists, and administrators while documenting progress and ensuring IDEA compliance. A state PT license is required, with experience in pediatrics preferred.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Current state Physical Therapy license.
  • Experience working with children or in school settings preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate students' gross motor skills and functional abilities to determine impact on education.
  • Develop and monitor measurable IEP physical therapy goals.
  • Deliver individual and group PT sessions to improve mobility and independence.
  • Collaborate with teachers, OT, SLP, and administrators to support student needs.
  • Recommend adaptive equipment and environmental modifications for accessibility.
  • Maintain timely documentation and ensure IDEA and district compliance.

Qualifications
  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Current state Physical Therapy license.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct Evaluations & Assessments – Evaluate students’ gross motor skills, mobility, strength, balance, posture, and functional abilities to determine how physical challenges impact educational performance and participation in school activities.
  2. Develop & Implement IEP Goals – Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and create measurable physical therapy goals and objectives, monitoring and documenting student progress toward goals.
  3. Provide Direct Therapy Services – Deliver individual and group physical therapy sessions focused on improving mobility, coordination, endurance, and independence. Support students with transfers, positioning, and safe movement within the school setting.
  4. Collaborate with School Teams – Work closely with teachers, special education staff, occupational therapists, speech therapists, school psychologists, and administrators. Provide consultation and training to staff and families regarding student needs and strategies for success.
  5. Recommend Adaptive Equipment & Accessibility Supports – Evaluate and recommend mobility devices and adaptive equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, and standers, ensuring proper use and fit and recommending environmental modifications for accessibility and safety.
  6. Maintain Documentation & Compliance – Complete timely evaluation reports, progress notes, and service documentation. Ensure compliance with IDEA, state regulations, and district policies.

Job Type: Full‑time

Pay: $85,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
