Job summary

Prospect Infosys Inc. is seeking a licensed Pediatric Physical Therapist to evaluate and support students within school settings, classrooms, gyms, and playgrounds.

You will develop individualized goals and plans, deliver services directly or via consult, and collaborate with teachers to embed therapy into daily routines. Strong IEP experience and excellent communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent from an accredited program.
  • Current state license or eligibility to practice as a Physical Therapist.
  • Knowledge of pediatric physical therapy, developmental disabilities, and school-based practice.
  • Strong communication, organization, assessment, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with IEPs and special education services is preferred.

Job description

  • Evaluate students’ gross motor skills, mobility, balance, strength, coordination, endurance, and functional abilities.
  • Determine students’ need for physical therapy services in accordance with applicable educational regulations and school policies.
  • Develop individualized physical therapy goals and intervention plans based on student needs and educational priorities.
  • Provide direct and/or consultative physical therapy services in the classroom, therapy setting, playground, gym, and other school environments.
  • Assist students in improving functional mobility, transfers, positioning, gait, balance, and participation in school activities.
  • Recommend and assist with the use of adaptive equipment, mobility devices, positioning systems, and other assistive technology.
  • Collaborate with teachers and school staff to incorporate therapeutic strategies into students’ daily routines.
  • Educate students, families, teachers, and staff regarding appropriate positioning, mobility, safety, and therapeutic techniques.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute appropriate evaluation findings, goals, accommodations, and progress information.
  • Monitor and document student progress and modify interventions as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, evaluations, treatment notes, and other required documentation in the IEP System.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians and members of the educational team regarding student progress and needs.
  • Follow federal, state, and local regulations, professional standards, and school district policies.
  • Maintain professional competence through continuing education and professional development.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree from an accredited physical therapy program.
  • Current state license or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist.
  • Knowledge of pediatric physical therapy, developmental disabilities, and school-based practice preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, assessment, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students of varying ages, abilities, and developmental needs.
  • Experience with IEPs and special education services is preferred.
