Job summary

CDW is seeking a Consulting Engineer to design, implement, and support Physical Security Systems for diverse clients, including video surveillance, access control, sensors, and integrations. You will collaborate with Account Managers and Project Teams on technically challenging engagements.

The role requires consulting and infrastructure experience, familiarity with Genetec or Milestone solutions, and travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or related technical field.
3+ years delivering complex technical solutions including planning, development, implementation, and support OR 7 years IT experience with 3 years delivering complex solutions.
2+ years consulting experience and 2+ years infrastructure/network experience.
Experience with Genetec or Milestone systems engineering.
Programming or analytical work experience (≥1 year).
Willingness to travel 25–50% and ability to work weekends/off-hours as needed.
Excellent client communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

Perform client consultation to design, implement, and support Physical Security Systems.
Develop architecture for network and physical security integrations.
Set up, configure, test systems including video surveillance, access control, sensors, and IoT devices.
Troubleshoot complex hardware/software problems and provide solutions.
Assist Account Managers during sales by educating customers on new technologies.
Manage projects using CDW's methodology and ensure timely delivery.
Interface with customer stakeholders and deliver high-quality content.
Lead design workshops and proactively plan to avoid problems.
