Job summary

Oklahoma City Community College seeks a Physical Science Center Tutor - Student to assist students with chemistry or physics material during PSC hours. The role supports lab and lecture content, working under the Physical Sciences Lab Supervisor.

Flex hours total 10–25 per week; nights or weekends may be required. Current OCCC student status required, with potential Federal Work Study eligibility; documentation of grades may be needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to observe and detect signs of hazards and obstacles.
• Basic computer skills.
• Knowledge relevant to tutoring any course work for which the applicant is applying.
• Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area.
• Must adhere to policies, procedures and guidelines for safety.
• Must be able to independently perform the essential responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with lecture material and lab work during scheduled hours.
• Support PSC staff with general maintenance and housekeeping of areas.
• Answer phones, direct students, and respond to general PSC questions.
• Interact effectively with students, faculty and staff during duties.
• Participate in safety trainings and emergency drills as required.
