Job summary

Blazer Jobs is seeking a Developmental Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (DAPE) to join a supportive middle school team in Blaine, MN on a full-time contract. About the Role

This full-time contract opportunity serves middle school students across multiple sites in the Blaine area. You’ll work alongside a supportive team of professionals while helping students of diverse abilities build movement skills, independence, confidence, and greater access to inclusive physical education.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized, adaptive PE curriculum that meets each student’s needs and IEP goals
• Instruct classes at Northdale and Roosevelt Middle Schools (1.0 FTE, Monday–Friday, 37.5 hours/week)
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to create inclusive opportunities
• Assess student progress and maintain accurate, timely records and documentation
• Participate in IEP meetings, contribute to goals and reports, and communicate with families and the school team
• Support a positive, energetic, and respectful classroom culture

Qualifications

• Valid Minnesota DAPE teaching license (required for consideration)
• Experience delivering adaptive physical education instruction, preferably in middle school settings
• Understanding of best practices for IEP development and progress monitoring
