The New School's Parsons School for Design seeks Student Assistants for the Photography Labs and Equipment Resource Center within the Making Center. The role involves assisting with tool checkouts, monitoring spaces, and supporting managers and technicians with daily tasks in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

This on-campus, part-time position offers hands-on experience with darkroom, scanning/printing labs, and equipment workflows, while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment

Qualifikationen

• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and strong organizational abilities.
• Able to understand and follow supervisor instructions and communicate clearly with lab users.
• Adaptable and reliable when schedule changes occur.
• Attention to detail and ability to work with diverse students and staff.
• Familiarity with Google Suite tools (Calendar, Gmail, Docs, Sheets).
• Ability to lift items up to 25lbs and work non-traditional hours.

Aufgaben

• Assist students and faculty with checkout of tools/equipment and with reservations.
• Monitor making spaces, assist Managers and Technicians with daily processes and projects, and keep spaces clean and orderly.
• Provide high-level customer service to students, faculty, and staff in all interactions.
• Train new users and help with routine maintenance and repairs to ensure operations run smoothly.
• Support in darkroom, scanning/printing labs, and equipment resource center workflows, including inventory and safety procedures.
