Job summary

Parsons School for Design, a division of The New School, seeks Student Assistants in the Media Studies Film Office within the Making Center. Parsons Making Center is a collection of more than 70,000 sq. ft.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Close attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
• Able to follow verbal and written instructions from supervisor.
• Adaptable and reliable when schedule changes arise.
• Familiarity with Google Suite (Calendar, Gmail, Docs, Sheets).

Responsibilities

• Cultivate an inclusive, welcoming learning environment for students, faculty and staff.
• Provide high-level customer service with a professional demeanor.
• Report for shifts on time and review tasks with supervisor.
• Monitor shop activity and assist patrons entering and exiting the space.
• Provide information about department services, policies, and procedures.
• Assist with equipment reservations and checkouts for students and faculty.
• Support Making Center staff with shop upkeep and maintenance.
