Job summary

The New School's Parsons School for Design seeks Student Assistants for the Digital Tools Shops at the Making Center on 2 West 13th Street. The on-campus, part-time role involves helping with tool checkout, guiding users, and supporting shop operations to keep spaces organized and functional.

You will work with 3D Lab, Laser Lab, and CNC/Prototyping spaces, learning new skills while delivering high-quality customer service to students and staff.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Willingness to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Familiarity with Google Suite (Calendar, Gmail, Docs, Sheets).

Responsibilities

• Assist students and faculty with checkout of tools/equipment.
• Monitor making spaces and assist Managers and Technicians with daily processes.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the facilities.
• Provide information to users regarding services, policies, and procedures.
• Support reservations and equipment requests; assist with shop upkeep.
