Job summary

Parsons School for Design, a division of The New School, seeks student assistants for the Photography Labs and Equipment Resource Center within the Making Center. You will assist with checkout, monitor spaces, support Managers and Technicians, and keep facilities clean and orderly.

Responsibilities include helping with reservations and equipment requests, lighting and lab setup, and maintaining inventory. This on-campus role requires reliability and willingness to work non-traditional hours;

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions from the supervisor.
• Adaptable and consistent when notifying the supervisor of schedule changes.
• Ability to lift items up to 25lbs.
• Familiarity with Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist students and faculty with reservations and equipment requests.
• Help with checkout of tools and equipment.
• Monitor making spaces and assist with daily processes and projects.
• Provide high level customer service and professional interaction with students and staff.
• Train new users and help with routine maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Set up and operate scanning/printing equipment and manage digital files where applicable.
• Assist in managing inventory of supplies and ensure workspace is clean and organized.
