Job summary

ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, CA, is seeking an experienced Photo and Stage Specialist I for a part-time, on-site role. You will supervise Photo Labs and the Photo Stage, using Photoshop and Lightroom to support students in traditional and digital photography workflows.

The position runs 15–18 hours per week, including Saturdays, primarily during the fall term through the early summer term. Salary: $25.00 per hour; final pay depends on education, experience, and internal equity.

Qualifications

• AA certificate or 2+ years of equivalent experience in photography or photo lab.
• Extensive understanding of traditional and digital photo technologies; stage, lighting, and grip equipment.
• Digital imaging skills; familiarity with calibration software/equipment.
• Experience with tungsten and strobe lighting; stage maintenance.
• Strong communication to support students, faculty and staff.
• Knowledge of traditional B/W and color processes and chemistry handling.
• Ability to enforce policies and work inclusively within ArtCenter.

Responsibilities

• Maintain consistent quality of processing and imaging equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electro and photomechanical systems.
• Maintain safe learning environment for students.
• Oversee and manage the Photo Stage after school hours.
• Open/close Photo Stage on Saturdays to support student projects.
• Maintain order and safety protocols.
• Support students to foster productive learning.
• Handle non-essential duties as assigned.
