Job summary

Objectways in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a detail-oriented Transcription Specialist to join our annotation team on-site. You will listen to English audio and correct transcripts according to the project SOP, contributing to quality with Word Error Rate tracking.

The role requires reliable 40-hour weeks, in-person work three days per week, and strong written English with attention to formatting and style. Prior transcription or QA experience is a plus, but not required.

Qualifications

• Experience in transcription or QA is a plus but not required.
• Strong English listening and writing skills with good grammar and punctuation.
• Ability to follow a defined SOP and format consistently.

Responsibilities

• Listen to audio recordings and correct the automated transcript per SOP.
• Track and report Word Error Rate (WER) and related quality metrics.
• Apply formatting, punctuation, and style conventions per SOP.
• Flag unclear audio, ambiguous phrasing, or SOP gaps to the project lead.
• Meet daily/weekly throughput and accuracy targets.
• Participate in calibration sessions and apply updated SOP guidance promptly.
• Maintain confidentiality of any proprietary or sensitive audio/data.
