Job summary

Objectways Technologies seeks a detail-oriented Transcription Specialist to join the Phoenix annotation team on-site. You will listen to English audio and correct the transcript per the SOP, and help track Word Error Rate (WER) as part of quality control.

Responsibilities include correcting transcripts, reporting WER metrics, and applying consistent formatting. Must work 3 days a week on-site with a 40-hour schedule; prior transcription experience is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Excellent listening and strong written English (grammar, spelling, punctuation).
• Attention to detail and consistent SOP adherence.
• Comfortable with audio playback and annotation/transcription tools.
• Familiar with tracking metrics like WER in spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Listen to audio and correct the auto-generated transcript per the SOP.
• Track and report Word Error Rate (WER) and related quality metrics.
• Apply formatting, punctuation, and style conventions per SOP.
• Flag unclear audio, ambiguous phrasing, or SOP gaps to the project lead.
• Meet daily/weekly throughput and accuracy targets.
• Participate in calibration sessions and apply updated SOP guidance.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary or sensitive audio/data.
