Job summary

BMC is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician I to join our lab services team in Boston. The role includes registration, specimen collection, processing, and related duties with venipuncture on patients. You will ensure proper labeling, timely routing, and adherence to policies in a hospital setting.

The successful candidate will perform LIS and EPIC-related tasks, monitor equipment, and support quality improvement while delivering high standards of patient care and service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy and/or specimen processing experience preferred.
• Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipunctures and collects timed, blood culture, pediatric and neonatal specimens.
• Identifies patients and labels specimens per policy.
• Prepares and processes specimens for analysis and testing.
• Operates LIS and EPIC functions for order entry and registration.
• Maintains equipment, records temperatures, and follows safety procedures.
