Job summary

Mercyhealth Wisconsin and Illinois in Rockford, IL is seeking a dedicated phlebotomist to collect, label, and process blood specimens while ensuring patient identification and specimen integrity. You will support patient registration and lab order entry, and assist with daily laboratory operations.

The role requires phlebotomy skills, familiarity with HIS/LIS systems, and strong patient communication. Schedule is Full-Time, 7 AM–4 PM, with rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred with phlebotomy training.
• Experience with hospital HIS and LIS systems preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proficiently collect and label specimens with correct patient identifiers.
• Register patients and assist with data entry in HIS/LIS systems.
• Prepare and transport specimens to the appropriate lab area.
• Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff.
