Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician I to provide quality, customer-oriented laboratory services including registration, specimen collection, processing, and related duties in the Phlebotomy Outpatient department. You will perform venipuncture and maintain equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities include patient identification, proper labeling, specimen preparation, LIS and EPIC system use, and collaboration with supervisors.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy or specimen processing experience preferred.
• Strong English communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipunctures per policies, including timed specimens and blood cultures.
• Identifies patients per policy and labels specimens correctly.
• Prepares and processes specimens and sends out as needed.
• Maintains equipment, monitors temperatures and logs documentation.
• Assists in training lab support staff and students.
