Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Phlebotomy Tech II to provide quality, customer-oriented laboratory services including registration, specimen collection, and processing. The role involves venipuncture, equipment maintenance, and collaboration with laboratory staff to ensure timely delivery of specimens.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of one year in phlebotomy, familiarity with EPIC and LIS systems, and excellent communication skills in English.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy Certification or seven years of experience required.
• One year of Phlebotomy and/or specimen processing experience.
• Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with EPIC registration and LIS systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture according to policies and collect timed specimens.
• Identify patients per procedures to ensure accuracy.
• Label and verify specimen IDs for all samples.
• Prepare and process specimens for testing and analysis.
• Operate and troubleshoot LIS and registration systems as needed.
• Maintain workstation supplies and clean work areas.
