Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking a phlebotomist to perform routine blood collection across age groups in the Phlebotomy department. The role requires delivering care suitable to the patient’s age with accuracy and compassion.

The ideal candidate will have a vocational phlebotomy program completion or 3 months of phlebotomy experience and strong communication skills to work with patients and health-care teams.

Qualifications

• Requires completion of a vocational phlebotomy program or at least 3 months of phlebotomy experience.
• Prefer strong communication skills with patients, staff and other healthcare providers.
• Experience with patient identification systems and specimen processing is a plus.

Job Summary

Responsible for performing all phlebotomist duties including routine blood collection on appropriate age groups. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients' in assigned area.

Required Qualifications

• Require graduate of a vocational program in phlebotomy or three (3) months of phlebotomy experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer demonstrated ability to interact successfully with patients, staff and other healthcare providers and excellent communication skills.
• Prefer demonstrated knowledge of all relevant computer skills as needed for patient ID system and specimen processing functions.
• Prefer the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Prefer successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia test.

Mandatory Education

HS EQ: High School Diploma, GED or Certificate

Preferred License and Certs

• FDL: Valid Driver's License
