Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking a phlebotomist to perform routine blood collection across all age groups within our Phlebotomy department. You will be responsible for accurate specimen collection and labeling, ensuring patient safety and specimen integrity.

Ideal candidates will have a vocational phlebotomy program or equivalent experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced healthcare setting in Sarasota, FL.

Qualifications

• Require graduate of a vocational program in phlebotomy or three (3) months of phlebotomy experience.
• Demonstrated ability to interact successfully with patients, staff and other healthcare providers and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and basic arrhythmia understanding is a plus.

Job Summary

Responsible for performing all phlebotomist duties including routine blood collection on appropriate age groups. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients' in assigned area.

Required Qualifications

• Require graduate of a vocational program in phlebotomy or three (3) months of phlebotomy experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer demonstrated ability to interact successfully with patients, staff and other healthcare providers and excellent communication skills.
• Prefer demonstrated knowledge of all relevant computer skills as needed for patient ID system and specimen processing functions.
• Prefer the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Prefer successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia test.

Mandatory Education

HS EQ: High School Diploma, GED or Certificate

Preferred License and Certs

FDL: Valid Driver's License
