Advocate Health is seeking a phlebotomist to support specimen collection, processing, and basic CLIA testing across age groups. You will verify patient identity, collect venipuncture samples, label specimens, and handle related administrative tasks, including order verification and quality checks.

The role requires solid communication skills, reliability, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment. Training will cover phlebotomy procedures and safety protocols.

Qualificações

• Demonstrates knowledge and experience in phlebotomy or related laboratory function.
• Basic computer skills including experience using computer software applications.
• Keyboarding and typing skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good listening skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Demonstrated customer service skills to interface effectively with physicians, patients, visitors, and other healthcare employees.

Responsabilidades

• Verifies patient identification and assesses reactions during specimen procurement.
• Performs venipuncture and collects specimens from newborn, pediatric, and adult patients per protocol.
• Labels specimens correctly and resolves identification or requisition problems.
• Performs limited testing under CLIA guidelines according to policies and procedures.
• Answers and screens telephone calls; assists with inventory, billing and other business functions.
• Processes specimens for testing, including pre-analytical steps and instrument loading, with proper specimen identification.
• Orders and verifies test requests; documents information for quality assurance and runs quality control checks.
• Instructs employees and students in phlebotomy and specimen processing functions.
