Aufgaben

• Verifies patient identification and assesses reactions to specimen procurement.
• Performs venipuncture and collects specimens from newborn to adult patients as per protocol.
• Ensures proper labeling and handling of specimens and resolves identification or requisition problems.
• Performs limited CLIA-compliant testing according to policy.
• Answers calls and assists with inventory, billing and other duties.
• Receives, sorts, packages and tracks specimens for transport and helps with pre-analytical steps.
• Orders and verifies test requests and documents quality assurance information.
• Performs data entry of laboratory results.
• Participates in proficiency testing and reviews reports.
• Instructs employees and students in phlebotomy and specimen processing functions.
• Demonstrates ability to care for patients of appropriate age.
