Job summary

The American Red Cross in Michigan is seeking a phlebotomist to support blood collection efforts. You will work with a team to transport and set up equipment at collection sites, create a welcoming environment for volunteer donors, and follow safety procedures to help collect lifesaving blood donations.

Paid phlebotomy training is provided, and the role offers flexibility with a variable schedule, weekend and holiday shifts, and opportunities to grow within the organization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills required.
• A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record required.
• Physical requirements: ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights; sit or stand for long periods; adapt to long, irregular hours and schedule changes.
• Minimum height 60 inches required to operate Red Cross vehicles.
• Basic computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Take time to personally connect with donors and explain the impact of donation.
• Collaborate with teammates to keep donors comfortable and encourage return visits.
• Ensure collected blood meets goals, regulatory requirements, and can be safely transfused.
• May drive Red Cross vehicles; minimum height 60 inches is required to operate vehicles.
