Job summary

The American Red Cross in Grand Rapids, MI is hiring to join the world’s largest humanitarian network. We offer paid phlebotomy training with no prior medical experience required and a flexible schedule to support donors and communities.

As part of a supportive team, you will help transport and set up equipment at blood collection sites, welcome donors, follow safety procedures, and ensure donations reach hospitals in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required.
• A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
• Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights and stand for long periods; long irregular hours and schedule changes.
• Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.

Responsibilities

• Connect with donors and explain the impact of their donation.
• Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming environment for donors.
• Maintain attention to detail to ensure blood collection meets goals and safety standards.
• May drive Red Cross vehicles and set up/tear down equipment at collection sites; minimum height requirement may apply.
