Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a phlebotomy technician to perform daily blood draws and ensure safe, accurate specimen handling. The role requires collaboration with laboratory staff, nursing units, and management to maintain quality patient care.

Per diem, no set hours, and shifts across mixed schedules. Prior phlebotomy experience is preferred; high school diploma or GED is required. Training and competency assessments are provided; signing bonus may be available during interviews.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certificate in phlebotomy or medical assisting, or hospital training in phlebotomy techniques required.
• Preferred: previous phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Daily drawing of blood from patients and ensuring safe specimen delivery.
• Maintain open communication between laboratory, nursing units and management.
• Rotate on all shifts when necessary and cover other sites as needed.
• Perform additional duties as deemed by laboratory management.
