Job summary

Atrium Health's Winston Campus Laboratory is seeking a phlebotomist to join the team on a Monday–Friday 3rd shift (11:00 PM–7:30 AM). The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, CPR certification, and phlebotomy certification with exam success.

Two years of phlebotomy experience is preferred. Responsibilities include accurate blood collection, specimen labeling and delivery to the correct lab sections, and adherence to safety and privacy standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years phlebotomy experience preferred.
• CPR Certification.
• ASCP, AMT, ASPT or equivalent phlebotomy certification with exam pass is required (per program).

Responsibilities

• Adheres to department standards to promote a cooperative work environment.
• Ensures accurate and timely collection of blood specimens.
• Ensures accurate identification and delivery of patient samples to lab sections.
• Follows safety and identification procedures when handling patients and specimens.
• Serves as a resource on phlebotomy knowledge and applies it to daily routines.
• Performs clerical tasks: entering lab orders, printing and delivering reports, and data entry into LIS.
• May perform waived testing and other duties as assigned.
