Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Team Lead to join our Portland, OR team. You will oversee a team of phlebotomists across multiple sites, ensure quality specimen collection, and support client services with strong communication and training of staff.

This role requires phlebotomy experience, leadership abilities, and a drive for exceptional customer service in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Overtime and travel to sites may be required; a valid driver's license is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification or completion of an accredited training program.
• Phlebotomy experience required; leadership skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage and travel to various sites to perform phlebotomy duties.
• Assist in supervising a team of phlebotomists across multiple sites.
• Observe new employee performance and report observations to supervisor.
• Perform site inspections and report findings accurately.
• Provide continuous training to phlebotomy staff as directed.
• Complete new hire and annual competency assessments when necessary.
• Manage patient flow, wait times, inventory levels, and information logs.
• Address customer service issues promptly and respectfully.
• Review schedules with supervisor and adjust as needed.
• Promote teamwork and effective communication among staff.
• Perform all duties of a phlebotomist and site coordinator as needed.
