Job summary

Labcorp in Portland, OR is seeking a Phlebotomy Team Lead to supervise a team, perform skilled phlebotomy, and ensure compassionate patient service at multiple sites.

You will coordinate schedules, train staff, monitor quality and compliance, and drive efficient workflow while upholding Labcorp's standards and patient care.

Hours include Monday–Friday with potential overtime; you’ll lead a dynamic team, ensuring high-quality specimen collection and client satisfaction across locations.

LabCorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Team Lead to join our team in Portland, OR

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm overtime and rotating Saturdays may be required.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide coverage and travel to various sites to perform phlebotomy job duties
• Assist in the supervision of a team of phlebotomists covering multiple Patient Service Centers & client sites
• Observe new employee performance and report observations to the supervisor
• Perform site inspections on a regular basis and accurately report all findings
• Provide continuous training to phlebotomy staff as directed
• Complete new hire and annual competency assessments when necessary
• Manage and monitor patient flow, wait times, inventory levels and information logs
• Address any customer service related issues in a prompt and respectful manner
• Review daily/weekly schedule with supervisor and making schedule adjustments as needed
• Promote team work, cohesiveness and effective communication among coworkers
• Perform all duties of a phlebotomist and site coordinator as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1 year or more phlebotomy experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 or more years' phlebotomy experience working in a clinical / hospital environment
• Current or prior LabCorp experience

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of work experience, a phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• Ability to work in fast paced / high volume work environments
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Be 21 years of age or older
• Have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision

QUARTERLY INCENTIVE BONUS PROGRAM

Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the Phlebotomy Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics

Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
