Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Team Lead to join our team in Portland, OR. The role involves coverage at various sites, supervising phlebotomists across multiple Patient Service Centers and client sites, and ensuring smooth patient flow and service quality.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma with 1+ year phlebotomy experience, with preferred 3+ years in a clinical environment. Certification from an accredited agency may substitute for experience.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; 1 year or more phlebotomy experience.
  • 3+ years phlebotomy experience in a clinical/hospital environment preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification or completed accredited training may be used in lieu of work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide coverage and travel to various sites to perform phlebotomy duties.
  • Supervise a team of phlebotomists across multiple Patient Service Centers & client sites.
  • Observe and report on new employee performance to the supervisor.
  • Manage site inspections and report findings; provide training to staff.
  • Handle patient flow, wait times, inventory, and information logs.
  • Address customer service issues promptly and respectfully; adjust schedules as needed.
  • Promote teamwork and effective communication among staff; perform phlebotomy and site coordination duties as needed.

LabCorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Team Lead to join our team in Portland, OR.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm overtime and rotating Saturdays may be required.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide coverage and travel to various sites to perform phlebotomy job duties
  • Assist in the supervision of a team of phlebotomists covering multiple Patient Service Centers & client sites
  • Observe new employee performance and report observations to the supervisor
  • Perform site inspections on a regular basis and accurately report all findings
  • Provide continuous training to phlebotomy staff as directed
  • Complete new hire and annual competency assessments when necessary
  • Manage and monitor patient flow, wait times, inventory levels and information logs
  • Address any customer service related issues in a prompt and respectful manner
  • Review daily/weekly schedule with supervisor and making schedule adjustments as needed
  • Promote team work, cohesiveness and effective communication among coworkers
  • Perform all duties of a phlebotomist and site coordinator as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent 1 year or more phlebotomy experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3 or more years' phlebotomy experience working in a clinical / hospital environment

Current or prior LabCorp experience

Additional Job Standards:
  • In lieu of work experience, a phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
  • Ability to work in fast paced / high volume work environments
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Be 21 years of age or older
  • Have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
Benefits:
  • Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
  • Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
  • Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
