Job summary

CoxHealth is hiring for a Phlebotomy Support Technician II to join our laboratory team in Springfield, MO. You will collect and process blood specimens, verify patient IDs, and label samples accurately for testing.

The role requires basic phlebotomy experience, strong communication, and the ability to work independently within a team, using computer systems to access and update orders. Day shift, on-site work in a full- or part-time capacity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred: 3 months minimum; 6 months preferred.
• Phlebotomy Tech certification renewal must be maintained within 30 days after expiration.

Responsibilities

• Collect and process blood and other specimens as directed.
• Confirm patient ID, collect specimens in proper tubes, and label accurately.
• Perform venipuncture/capillary techniques and prepare specimens for testing.
• Accessions, updates orders, and corrects information as needed.
• Demonstrate ability to perform POC testing as directed.
