Job summary

Labcorp seeks a Phlebotomy Supervisor in San Diego to lead a team of phlebotomists across Patient Service Centers and client sites, ensuring efficient patient flow, high-quality specimen handling, and strong service levels.

The role requires a California Phlebotomy License, a high school diploma, and several years of experience with supervisory responsibilities. Travel to multiple locations may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid California State issued Phlebotomy License.
• Associate or bachelor’s or master’s degree.
• 3 or more years’ phlebotomy experience working in clinical / hospital environment.
• 2 or more years’ assisting all patient groups (pediatric - geriatric).
• 3 or more years’ phlebotomy managerial or supervisory or team leader experience

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of approximately 20-30 or more phlebotomists working in Patient Service Centers and/or physician’s offices in San Diego, California area
• Manage patient flow, wait times, inventory levels and information logs
• Monitor monthly productivity and report any deviations as necessary
• Coordinate phlebotomists’ schedules through resourceful and creative thinking
• Perform operational duties such as payroll, monthly schedules and performance appraisals
• Partner with Human Resources regarding employee relations issues and disciplinary actions
• Hire and train phlebotomists to fill any open positions
• Communicate effectively to internal and external customers including patients, client office staff, sales team, logistics and senior management
• Provide exceptional customer service to all patients and clients
• Assist in the set-up of new Patient Service Centers or Client Offices
• Provide resolution of any patient or client issues
• Perform, collect and prepare specimens when needed
• Travel to additional sites as necessary
