Job summary

Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital in Boston is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to obtain blood specimens and manage upfront specimen handling, ensuring a professional, patient-friendly atmosphere.

You will perform pre-analytical prep, interact with hospital staff and external clients, register and label tubes, centrifuge and aliquot specimens, and support workflow in the laboratory while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy Technician certification preferred (ASCP-BOC)
• Experience in a hospital laboratory 3–5 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtains blood specimens from patients following established procedures.
• Registers and labels tubes accurately.
• Centrifuges and aliquots specimens per policy.
• Sorts, stores, and delivers laboratory specimens as required.
• Works with technologists and client services to resolve specimen problems.
