Responsibilities

  • Performs venipuncture and collects specimens from patients of all ages.
  • Ensures proper labeling and suitability of specimens for testing; resolves identification issues.
  • Answers calls and assists with inventory to maintain supplies and equipment.
  • Accepts specimens from internal and external customers and processes requests.
  • Orders and verifies test requests; documents information for quality assurance.
  • Reviews reports and distributes them as needed; supports Billing and other business functions.
  • Instructs staff and students in phlebotomy and data entry; ensures age-appropriate care.
