Job summary

Henry Ford Hospital – Detroit Main Campus in Detroit, MI is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to join the laboratory team on the Day shift. The role includes specimen collection, processing, order entry, and transport, with at least 25% phlebotomy on scheduled hours.

You will interact with patients and staff, enter orders in the lab information system, and ensure accuracy and confidentiality. A high school diploma and at least six months of phlebotomy experience are required; travel off-site

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Six months experience in phlebotomy required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and provide courteous service.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient specimens for laboratory testing with emphasis on preanalytic and post-analytic steps.
• Enters patient demographics and test orders into LIS accurately and timely.
• Performs blood collection (phlebotomy) for at least 25% of scheduled hours.
• Maintains confidentiality and handles routine inquiries from patients and staff.
• Adheres to Standards of Excellence and provides exceptional patient service.
