Job summary

Freeport-Memorial-Hospital is seeking a PRN phlebotomy specialist to support specimen collection and processing with strict patient identification and safety standards. You will perform phlebotomy, label specimens, and manage related LIS/HIS tasks, assist with patient registration and data entry, and help with daily laboratory operations while delivering patient‑centered care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Successful completion of a phlebotomy course or previous phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Experience as a Paramedic, EMT, CNA or MA helpful.

Responsibilities

• Proficient with HIS and LIS to release orders or register patients as needed.
• Performs patient registration, data entry of demographic and insurance information.
• Accurately identify patients using two patient identifiers and perform phlebotomy.
• Label specimens and ensure specimen integrity following safety protocols.
• Assist with daily laboratory operations and supporting staff as needed.
