Job summary

SSM Health – Monroe Clinic Freeport is seeking a skilled phlebotomist to join the 5800070165 Freeport Lab. Under general supervision, you will perform standard laboratory tasks, including phlebotomy, waived testing, and basic clerical support to keep the department running smoothly.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED (or 10 years of work experience), at least one year in a laboratory setting, and a current BLS HCP certification. Day shift, 32 hours weekly with weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or 10 years of work experience.
• One year experience in a laboratory setting.
• Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads lab specimens from instruments and performs waived testing.
• Assists in problem requisitions/specimens and orients new hires.
• Collects, labels, processes and preserves specimens per procedures.
• Handles administrative duties including admission activities and order entry.
