Job Description
- The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) interacts directly with patients, representing our company by providing quality service and care.
- Draws blood samples from patients and prepares specimens for lab testing following established procedures.
- Creates a trusting environment by explaining procedures clearly and drawing blood skillfully, safely, and accurately.
- Demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence and confidentiality.
- May be assigned to various locations such as doctor’s offices or patient service centers based on business needs.
- Performs daily activities accurately and timely under supervision.
- Maintains a safe and professional environment.
- Handles forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following protocols.
- Verifies patient demographic info and labels specimens in the presence of the patient.
- Maintains accurate records and documentation.
- Promotes a positive image and demonstrates organizational commitment.
Job Requirements
- Ability to produce error-free, quality work in a fast-paced environment.
- Works independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexible to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
- Adheres to all policies, including dress code, safety, and company principles.
- Good judgment and decision-making skills based on established procedures.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record if applicable.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
- Strong customer focus and effective communication skills.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in CA, NV, WA.
- Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Preferably 2+ years in a Patient Service Center environment.
- Customer service experience in retail or service settings preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry skills.
- Reliable transportation and ability to commute within 20-25 minutes of the work site.
